What is RSD?
Most people do not enjoy rejection. But if hearing that you're not the right fit for a job or relationship, or simply being told "no," throws you into feelings of extreme sadness, depression or grief, sometimes lastint days, you might be experiencing what many are referring to now as "Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria."
What are the symptoms of RSD?
- Feeling intense emotional pain in response to or anticipation of rejection
- Isolating socially or withdrawing from social activities
- Negative self-talk
- Thoughts of self-harm
Is RSD a trauma response?
Trauma is thought to play a role in RSD. Brain function also is implicated.
How is RSD treated?
At the Midwest Center for Transformational Change, Anne uses two evidence-based approaches: Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy (Satir Model), and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) for RSD.
This combination of approaches supports you in developing highly effective and personalized ways of responding to rejection. They also create transformational change by reducing the intensity of the dysphoric response, and sometimes eliminating it.
